Late last month, the trailer for the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron was leaked, forcing Marvel to release an official teaser trailer shortly thereafter. In fact, to its potency to the film, Marvel brushed the leak off with a tweet

Dammit, Hydra.

But it has emerged that Marvel hasn’t actually been playing the leak down. Instead, it’s been in the background, trying to find those responsible.
On Tuesday, the company asked a judge for a subpoena against Google so it could determine the identity of the leaker. The subpoena was granted yesterday.
In the subpoena, Marvel asked for the information on pseudonymous user “John Gazelle” who uploaded a version of the trailer on Google Drive. Marvel got its way, the judge agreed, summoning Google to hand over the IP address of the person who uploaded the leaked file to Drive, as well as the IP addresses associated with the person’s Google + and YouTube accounts. Google will have to appear in court with that information on 18 November.
