We can only hope that it is a partnership that works better than the recent partnerships that Microsoft has had with CNN and NFL. Both deals backfired for Microsoft and it did not get the maximum marketing exposure that it wanted. The failure of these partnerships have probably encouraged Microsoft to be a lot smarter.

The full details will only be available once the event has taken place, but it is not hard to imagine that the partnership will be a combination of technology and sponsorship deal. As to how the two will combine is yet to be seen.
In the video announcing the deal, it is said that, “We are going to transform the future”.
The announcement will be made on 18 November 2014 at 6:30 pm Madrid, 1:30 pm EST and 9:30 pm PST, according to a post on Real Madrid’s website, with longtime Microsoft executive Orlando Ayala and Real Madrid President Florentino Perez to appear at the event.
