Turns out that viral game ranger video was a Careers 24 ad

Careers24 Game Ranger

In the last week or so, you’ve probably seen this video floating around on your social timelines. It shows a game ranger taking a tour group on a walking safari. After repeated attempts to get one member of the group to stay quiet, the ranger eventually gets the “hell-in” and abandons the group. It’s racked up more than 271 000 views since going live and, it now turns out, is an advert for Careers 24.

According to Nadia Boucher Coombe, Head of Marketing for Careers24, the idea sprang from the insight that everyone looks for a career that is right for them. “Many people tend to settle for jobs that might not necessarily be the right fit, which is what we wanted the video to highlight”.

She added, “This is where Careers24 steps in: we offer thousands of quality positions online, whether you’re sick of your current job and need to move on or straight out of university.”

This stunt forms part of a humorous new advertising campaign rolled out across television, radio, billboard and online that focuses on the awkward moment after one is asked – “What is it you do for a living?”

Careers24 has also created downloadable “Get Fired Kits” to inspire people to find the career that’s right for them.
