Would you date a social media platform? [video]

Dating a social media site isn’t really a farfetched idea, is it? Considering the amount of time people spend on social media sites, dating one would make sense, at least in terms of commitment.

Blackery’s sketch imagines dating personifications of social media sites, and their subsequent personalities. The video, edited in a quick montage format, portrays the likes of Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Google+ and Snapchat, and the platform’s perceived personalities are both hilarious and not far off the mark.

Facebook flips through photographs to suggest who you should befriend, Snapchat has a short attention span counting down the seconds before disappearing, and Instagram is only interested in staring at food rather than its date.

The dates are not all just for entertainment, there is some important reading into this video. Twitter, for as example, goes and on and on about minority communities being bullied on Twitter, it is mean and demands that you follow it.

Nevertheless, it’s both a hilarious and interesting foray into the world of social media and the people who use it.
