Users can also set up reminders before events, and can get a daily digest each morning and a weekly digest on a day or time of their choosing.
Combining Slack and Google calendar appears to be no struggle at all. Users can connect the Google calendar option on their teams’ intergration page, and connect a Google account to Slack to choose from a list of calendars. The advantage is that one can add more than one calendar, ensuring that no event is forgotten.
Users can pick which certain Slack channel they want Google Calendar to post to. Users can then interact with them directly by expanding or following links to Google Calendar event pages for additional options.
The intergration also gives users more control.
“The default event reminders can be adjusted or disabled. Calendar updates can also be disabled and you can optionally enable daily and weekly summaries at times and on days that work best for you” Slack says.
Once everything is configured, Slack says, calendar messages should appear in channels at the times a user has set them to.
This feature is available on Slack today, and can be turned on in the team’s integrations page.
