In the latter part of 2015, we reported that Instagram had been testing multiple account support with Android users and last week the beta testing became available for some iOS users. The Facebook owned photo and video sharing platform has finally added support for multiple account for up to five accounts for all users.
The process to set up multiple accounts is simple. The option to add accounts is available from the settings menu, after setting up an account, users can seamlessly switch between the accounts without the need to log out. Users can simply switch between the accounts on their Android and iOS devices.

With five accounts, there is the possibility of confusion, which account are you on, are you sending an image of a night out on the business account where your clientele expect a certain etiquette. The chances of this happening are slim. Instagram says that when a user has multiple accounts they will see the profile picture of the account they are on appear in places through out the app so they know at all times which account they are on.

“If you’ve added multiple Instagram accounts, you may get push notifications from any account that has them turned on,” Instagram said in its supporting page. “This depends on when you last logged in and the number of devices that are logged in to an account.”
Instagram last reported its user base in September 2015 and it had 400 million monthly active users.
The news is great if you want to have a personal and a business account and one for your adorable cats.
