Depending on who you speak to, Starbucks is either the greatest gift America gave the world or muck masquerading as coffee.
Anyway, the first store has finally launched in South Africa this morning at Rosebank Mall and everyone had something to say about it.
No ad to show here.
Many were ecstatic, having queued for hours to be among the first in line.

Some people were less than impressed with the prospect of Starbucks though…
If only we created so much hype about locally brewed shops and brands

#StarbucksSouthAfrica Don’t we have enough ostentatious places selling overpriced shitty tasting coffee?

Your #Starbucks is selling mugs written “South Africa” to South Africans for R250…

Omg South Africa stop this Starbucks queuing nonsense at once. The food is terrible. The coffee is at best mediocre and overpriced. Go home.

Ignore the haters. Queue for Starbucks. Go out there, shred that dignity into fragments & scatter it about the land like horcruxes of virtue

The person in front of me at Starbucks included a specific temperature in her coffee order. Where is a drone strike when you need one?
