Facebook has finally put that 8K-capable camera rig it unveiled at its F8 Conference to good use, and where better to take it for a spin than New York’s Grand Central Station?
It’s the first video captured and published by the company’s US$30 000 camera rig, which allows the viewer a total 360-degree experience of one of the busiest train stations on earth.

“Explore Grand Central Terminal and the stories that unfold there in the first film shot with the new Facebook Surround 360 camera,” reads the Facebook post.
“Watch the film in standard monoscopic 360 here, or find it in the Oculus Video app to watch in full 3D-360 with Gear VR.”
While the video will work within Facebook (dragging it with a mouse will simulate the 360-degree ‘scape), we suggest you don your VR headset for this one, especially if you fancy some light folk music, emotional scenes of people wishing others well, and you know, selfies.
