Well, that didn’t take long. After bursting onto the scene in 2011, Evan Spiegel’s Snapchat has been steadily growing in stature as a social and messaging platform.
In a new report, Bloomberg’s “people familiar with the matter” have revealed that 150-million people now use Snapchat daily, which the publication indicates eclipses Twitter.

Twitter, in comparison, has “less than 140 million users interacting with the service daily, according to an average of analysts’ estimates surveyed by Bloomberg,” suggested the report.
“Estimates” is the key word there, but we do know at least know Twitter has a baseline 310-million monthly users. In an apples vs. oranges comparison, Snapchat users watch around 8-billion videos a day, which itself is an incredible statistic.
Snapchat tends not to announce how many monthly users grace its network, so there’s no affirmative way to know if the network is now more popular than Twitter on that basis.
More interestingly, this report also doesn’t take into account the users that use Twitter without logging in, which Twitter itself suggested in 2015 stood at no less than half-a-billion users.
Still, there’s no doubt that Snapchat is steadily growing, while Twitter, to a large extent, is stagnating.
