More than 80 people were killed and hundreds injured Saturday in a suicide bombing during a protest in Afghanistan capital Kabul. ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack which seemed to target Harazas — the third largest population group in the country, the BBC suggests.

Nine people were murdered in a Munich shopping district Friday by an 18-year-old gunman. Named as Ali Sonboly, the gunman has no reported links to ISIS or any extremist groups.

Less than a week after Republican representative Donald Trump announced his running mate, his chief competition for the US Presidency Hilary Clinton announced hers Saturday as Tim Kaine. Kaine is the current junior senator of Virginia.

Firefighters are battling a 6500-acre wild wire between Monterrey and Big Sur in California. The blaze, which began on 22 July, is currently visible from space. This fire comes after news that the planet has experienced 14 record breaking hottest months in a row.

A recent cold front brought rains to the Western Cape, and now snow to the KwaZulu Natal Midlands. Most of the province’s higher-lying routes were blanketed in snow and sleet this weekend.

Chris Froome won his third Tour de France title Sunday in Paris. The Brit, who was born in Kenya and grew up in South Africa, first won the race back in 2012.

At least 135 people are dead following more floods in central China. Hebei (the province engulfing capital city Beijing) and Henan provinces are the worst hit, the BBC reports, with over 53 000 houses also destroyed.

Annual music festival Tomorrowland took place this weekend in Boom, Belgium. Around 120 000 electronic music lovers flock to the festival each summer, known for its outrageous stages and production.

Germany was rocked by another terror attack late Sunday, after a suicide bomber killed two people and injured at least ten at a music festival in Bavaria. According to the German interior ministry, the attacker was refused asylum from Syria. This is the fourth terror attack in Germany in less than a week.
