Caster Semenya won gold in the women’s 800m race in Rio Saturday. Semenya, who has been called out by fellow competitors for boasting an unfair advantage, romped to victory with Burundi’s Francine Niyonsaba and Kenya’s Margaret Wambui rounding up an all-African podium. Semenya’s time of 1.55.29 is her personal best, and a new South African record.

Former 3 Doors Down guitarist Matt Roberts has died at 38. According to sources, Roberts succumbed to an overdose of prescription medication. He was a core member of the alternative rock outfit until 2012, when he left the band.
