In the wake of the #datamustfall social media campaigns, MVNO Afrihost Mobile has stepped up to the plate with a promotion.

The network has announced a special of 250MB of mobile data every month for a once-off fee of R1.

“If you use up all of your 250MB in the month you will automatically be capped. You will never pay us another cent unless you choose to buy extra data,” Afrihost wrote on its website.

It’s interesting to note that Afrihost Mobile piggybacks off the MTN network

It’s not a permanent move though, with the promotion set to run until January 2017. Still, 250MB a month for the rest of the year is a pretty sweet deal, especially when it costs at least R30 or more for 250-300MB data bundles on other networks.

For instance, Telkom Mobile charges R39 for a 250MB once-off bundle, Cell C charges R55-R60 for a 300MB bundle and Vodacom charges R59 for a prepaid 30-day 250MB bundle. Nevermind MTN, charging R85 for 300MB of mobile data.

Run out of data? Afrihost Mobile charges R29 for an additional 250MB – check out their bundle and topup table below.
