For the first time in several weeks, DC Comics’ Suicide Squad (review) has been knocked out of its first place position, being replaced by Mechanic Resurrection. Suicide Squad still has the current highest ticket sales, coming in at over R31.5-million in SA alone. What other movies were making waves at the South Africa box office in this weekend (2 to 4 September 2016)?
Comedy Bad Moms has gained a position from fourth to third place. Star Trek: Beyond dropped from third to fourth, which isn’t bad for a film that only had one 2D screening in SA on its opening weekend.
