Adult streaming site has reportedly offered to buy Vine, after Twitter announced it was scaling down the looping video service.
In a letter sent to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and obtained by CNET, Pornhub vice-president Corey Price says that Twitter could benefit from a sale.

“We figure since Twitter has dropped (Vine) and is having significant layoffs, that you and your stakeholders could benefit from a cash infusion from the sale of Vine. Not to mention we would be saving Vine gems like ‘Damn Daniel,’ ‘Awkward Puppets’ and many more.”
Price added that Vines “of porn in six seconds is more than enough time for most people to enjoy themselves”.
We’re not sure if the Pornhub offer to buy Vine is serious , but it makes for good PR
The offer comes (heh) just a day after Twitter announced it was discontinuing the Vine mobile app. Twitter hasn’t explicitly said that the service itself would be shutting down, but the tone of the announcement certainly feels that way.
“To the many team members over the years who made this what it was — thank you for your contributions. And of course, thank you to all of those who came to watch and laugh every day,” read an excerpt of the announcement.
Of course, without the mobile app, there’s no way to upload Vines. But Twitter has confirmed that they’ll let people watch Vines for a while yet.
