Donald Trump rushed off stage at Nevada rally

Donald Trump was rushed off stage at a Reno rally on Saturday after reports that a man in the crowd had a gun. According to The Guardian, some people in the crowd shouted “he’s got a gun”, which prompted the Secret Service to grab and remove Trump from the stage.

With just under two days left until the US Presidential elections reaches its peak, both Clinton and Trump are campaigning across the country.

State Capture report: debates continue on Twitter

The fallout following the State Capture report continued into the weekend. From Blade Nzimande to Jacob Zuma himself, practically everyone is South African politics has had something to say this weekend.

Speaking of President Zuma, South Africa’s leader noted this weekend that he is “not afraid of jail” in a statement that had South Africans’ tongues wagging.

SA Water crisis: Johannesburg and Cape Town continues to dry up

While South African politicians land themselves in hot water, much of South Africa is running out. Water restrictions in Cape Town and Gauteng have come into effect from 1 November, but still, concerns around the flimsy water system in the country is coming under scrutiny.

Residents are now also using Twitter to notify authorities of leaks.

Guy Fawkes: fireworks and litter

South Africans, along with much of the Commonwealth, celebrated Guy Fawkes day Saturday, lighting fireworks on beaches and other public areas.

Residents who live near to Blouberg Beach, Cape Town, however woke to find the sand littered with rubbish.

Temba Bavuma and ‘that’ run out

Do we really need to caption this?

In Australia’s second innings chasing a mammoth total to win, Temba Bavuma did this to Davin Warner — arguably one of Australia’s most dangerous batsman. For one, this run out has shades of Jonty Rhodes at his prime. Secondly, even Australia can’t quite believe this happened.

Springboks = Barbarians

In a less impressive showing, the now-touring Springboks played the British Barbarians in a one-off test, and well, drew. It was a thriller, with ten tries shared in a 31-31 scoreline, but many were left disappointed by another test match without a win.
