Microsoft made quite a splash when it revealed its Surface Studio desktop a few months ago. But the Surface line in general has been doing fantastic numbers for the firm, the company says.
In fact, November was the best month ever for Surface sales, Microsoft wrote on its blog.

“November was our best month ever for consumer Surface sales. The Best Buy-exclusive Surface bundle sold out on the first day. The momentum was seen worldwide. In the UK, we had the best single week for Surface ever and in Germany the Surface Pen became the best seller in PC Accessories on Amazon.com for over 12 hours.”
The Redmond firm added that more people were switching from Macs to the Surface than ever before.
“Our trade-in programme for MacBooks was our best ever, and the combination of excitement for the innovation of Surface coupled with the disappointment of the new MacBook Pro — especially among professionals — is leading more and more people to make the switch to Surface,” it explained.
The Surface line has seen strong sales, but it’s the Surface Hub that has surprised the company
Microsoft added that the gigantic Surface Hub computer has also been a bigger success than they were anticipating.
“The demand we are seeing with Surface Hub far exceeds our expectations, even though we knew it was a game-changing product. By the end of 2016, nine months since our launch, we will have shipped Surface Hubs to over 2000 customers in 24 markets.”
Microsoft says it’s been expanding its reseller network and ramping up Surface Hub production as a result of the product’s demand.
In fact, the company commissioned Forrester Research to investigate the economic impact of having a Surface Hub, finding that “the ROI of integrating a Surface Hub into an organisation was 138%”.
The study also found that between 15 and 23 minutes of time was saved as a result of the large computer, adding that sales were up 20%.
