A new website, dubbed FibreTiger, now allows South Africans to find the best bang for their fibre buck.
FibreTiger was launched last month and lets users compare fibre pricing and other details, making for a rather practical tool.

The website features sliders for desired pricing and minimum line speed, as well as toggles for uncapped/capped data, desired ISPs and networks.
Founder Jacques du Rand told Memeburn that the website started out as a side-project, being borne out of the frustration of comparing various fibre services. But it’s seen a lot of attention already, he added.
“Our traffic has more than doubled week on week and the user feedback has been fantastic!”
FibreTiger aims to simplify the process of choosing a fibre provider
The founder also assured users that the website is updated frequently.
“We are currently on a weekly automated update process but are looking at how to do this faster and more frequently,” he said, adding that it was free for ISPs and networks to get listed.
Of course, fibre networks tend to be available in certain areas only, so what are the odds that location-based functionality will be added?
Du Rand said that they’re currently in talks with networks on the best solution for address queries.
FibreTiger also has a statistics page, serving up figures related to the popularity of ISPs, networks, speeds and caps.
“What is also interesting is how the lesser known ISPs like HomeConnect have come out on top in terms of popularity!” the founder noted.
