UberEATS has been available in Johannesburg for a while now, bringing a Mr Delivery-style food service to smartphone users. Now, Capetonians can see what all the fuss is about as the service hits the city.
“Cape Town couldn’t be a better place for us to bring UberEATS with over 100 of the best local restaurants in the city partnering with Uber to deliver their food to you faster, and more reliably than ever before,” the company wrote on its website.

The service, which launches today (26 January), is available on Android and iOS.
UberEATS originally launched in Johannesburg in September, with Cape Town launching today
Partners mentioned by Uber for Cape Town include Gibsons Gourmet Burgers and Ribs, Active Sushi, Truth Coffee Roasting, Nü, Bacinis and Crumbs and Cream.
“The new UberEATS app is here with extended hours of operation from 10am to 10pm, 7 days a week and a R20 flat delivery fee,” the smart cab company adds.
The company is also offering a promotion, giving free first orders to the value of R100. Use the promo code ‘100EATSCT’ to take advantage of the deal.
We’ll be at the launch event tonight, so what would you like to know about the service? Drop us a question via email or Twitter and we’ll do our best to have it answered!
