American Horror Story: Donald Trump is actually happening

Gone are the days of mindless escapism. Ryan Murphy, the creator of American Horror Story, has revealed that the show’s upcoming season seven will be based on last year’s US Presidential election.

“I don’t have a title, but the season that we begin shooting in June will be about the election,” Murphy confirmed on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Wednesday night.

When asked if a Donald Trump-like figure would be a focus, the showrunner would not give a definite answer.

“Uh, maybe,” was all he would give fans.

It was confirmed last month that Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters would be returning to the hit horror anthology.

Response to the news has been mixed. Some users think it’s a topic that need not be sensationalised, while others are excited to see how it plays out.

If Ryan Murphy is so excited to dramatise difficult times, perhaps season eight will be American Horror Story: Still On Air. That’s enough to give anyone nightmares.
