Apple revealed last night that it has finally picked up Carpool Karaoke as a stand-alone series.

The Late Late Show with James Corden‘s segment has garnered around 1.2-billion views on YouTube, and the episode with Adele was the most watched YouTube video of 2016.

The segment features the charismatic James Corden driving through the streets of Los Angeles with A-list musicians, belting out their greatest hits. It provides another side to major celebrities, away from the audiences and publicists that usually surround them.

Carpool Karaoke: The Series will be produced by CBS but feature on Apple’s iTunes

Watching Adele rap Nicki Minaj’s verse in Monster’ or ordering fast food with Selena Gomez feels like you’re spending another day hanging out with good friends. This stripping down of personality has proven to be successful, and Apple noticed.

The series, produced by CBS, will feature 16 celebrity pairings. Stars featured in the trailer include Corden, Will Smith, John Cena, Shaquille O’Neal, Ariana Grande, Seth Macfarlane, Alicia Keys and John Legend.

The biggest step the series has taken away from the segment — aside from not entirely featuring Corden himself — is including artists who aren’t musicians. Perhaps part of the draw, then, is wondering what on earth John Cena and Shaquille O’Neal are going to sing.

The trailer premiered at last night’s Grammys to the delight of fans on Twitter.

Carpool Karaoke: The Series will be available soon on iTunes. Have a look at the trailer below.
