Cape Town’s suffering from a bit of a water crisis at present. With less than 32% capacity remaining in our dams, the city has been declared a disaster area.
But hey, at least we don’t have bright pink water, right?

A town in Alberta, Canada called Onoway is this week freaking out largely thanks to bright, luminous water flowing from the resident’s taps. And by bright, we mean raspberry red.
It’s not Cream Soda or pink lemonade but a sample of what is coming out of the water taps in Onoway. @ctvedmonton pic.twitter.com/hvxJm3eZuR

According to reports from the town’s mayor Dale Krasnow, the shiny water is caused by a bit too much potassium permanganate permeating a leak in the water supply system.
The chemical is used in water treatment plants, in addition to medicine as an antiseptic.
Krasnow has also noted that the council could’ve better communicated the issue to residents, but we’re not too sure how one could really word an issue quite like this…
