A town in Alberta, Canada called Onoway is this week freaking out largely thanks to bright, luminous water flowing from the resident’s taps. And by bright, we mean raspberry red.

According to reports from the town’s mayor Dale Krasnow, the shiny water is caused by a bit too much potassium permanganate permeating a leak in the water supply system.

The chemical is used in water treatment plants, in addition to medicine as an antiseptic.

Krasnow has also noted that the council could’ve better communicated the issue to residents, but we’re not too sure how one could really word an issue quite like this…
