“Now, Google Maps for Android and iOS will not only help you get where you’re going, but it’ll help you remember where you parked once you’ve arrived,” Google Map’s project manager Jeff Albertson announces in a blog.

For users who engage with Maps regularly, simply tapping the blue location dot with bring up a menu with “save your parking” an a new option.

“You’ll see a label on the map itself identifying where you parked your car. Tap on that label to open up your parking card, where you can add additional details about your parking spot,” Albertson adds.

Users can also add notes to the card, like info about when you free parking expires. If you’re really forgetful, you can also save an image of your parking and surrounds, and send the location to more reliable people in your life.

iOS also gets automatic parking detection that uses USB audio and Bluetooth to automatically track when you leave your ride.

The update is live on both platforms at the time of writing.
