If you’re into film and TV but don’t have the time to sit down and watch as much as you would like, then you, like me, are probably a trailer fan. There’s no shame in sitting down for half an hour and watching everything YouTube recommends for you, and you can be validated in the fact that others agree with you.
In fact, some agree so vehemently that they created an awards ceremony purely for trailers, and on Tuesday night the Golden Trailer Awards hosted its 18th annual ceremony. The Awards includes a staggering 115 categories — including the likes of best opening sequences and best posters.

But, as we’ve already established, not everyone has the time. So here’s a list of some of the trailers that won during the live show.
Best of Show: Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman is having a phenomenal opening week. Over the weekend, the film smashed the record for largest opening by a female-directed feature, and now it’s won the top honour at The Golden Trailers.
The clip also won for Best Fantasy Adventure, beating out the likes of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Rogue One.
Best Action: Baby Driver
Baby Driver has been wooing critics left, right and centre — and now it’s won a legitimate award before its theatrical release. The trailer beat out Passengers, King Arthur, John Wick and Kong: Skull Island.
Best Animation/Family: The Lego Batman Movie
The Lego Batman Movie represents another win for Warner Bros., the studio that pulled in the most victories Tuesday. Granted, in this category, it had a 40% chance of winning, with the domestic trailer up against its own ComicCon trailer.
It was nominated alongside Beauty and the Beast, A Dog’s Purpose and Despicable Me 3.
Best Comedy: The House
Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler’s comedy The House clinched a win for Best Comedy Tuesday, inching out Amy Schumer’s Snatched, Baywatch 2, Bad Moms and Office Christmas Party.
Best Documentary: I Am Not Your Negro
I Am Not Your Negro, the film about race relations in the US, clinched Best Documentary ahead of Rats, Risk and Tickled.
Best Drama: Dunkirk
Dunkirk’s trailer “Home” won Best Drama on Tuesday, beating out Academy Award Best Picture winner Moonlight. The other nominees included Hidden Figures, Sully and Patriots Day.
Best Horror: It
Though I have argued that the trailer for It advertises a comedy (a woman flips her hair only too reveal herself as a smizing clown), the trailer picked up the award for Best Horror. It was up against modern classic Get Out, The Conjuring 2, Annabelle: Creation and The Hatred.
Best Independent Trailer: Manchester by the Sea
The Golden Trailer Awards consider an independent film to be one produced outside of the major studios. This year, Manchester by the Sea picked up the prize for Best Independent Trailer, beating fellow nominees like The Birth of a Nation.
Best Music: Logan
The melancholy Logan teaser picked up the award for Best Music, despite tough competition from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Atomic Blonde, Sing, and Thor: Ragnarok.
Best Summer 2017 Blockbuster: Atomic Blonde
Atomic Blonde may have lost out on Best Music, but it picked up on Best Summer 2017 Blockbuster — beating out Best of Show winner Wonder Woman, as well as Transformers, The Mummy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Best Teaser: Blade Runner: 2049
The much-anticipated Blade Runner: 2049 snagged Best Teaser, up against Dunkirk, Academy Award winning La La Land, The Magnificent Seven and American Assassin.
Best Thriller: A Cure for Wellness
A Cure for Wellness‘s trailer beat out Arrival, Split, The Girl on the Train and Nerve to take home the Best Thriller award.
Golden Fleece: Resident Evil
The Golden Fleece is awarded to great trailers for not-so-great films. This year it went to Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, which fought bravely against XXX: Return of Xander Cage, The Sea of Trees, The Disappointments Room and Sleepless.
Most Original: The Nice Guys
Edited in the style of cheesy 1970s advertising, The Nice Guys snagged the award for Most Original trailer. It was up against The Lego Batman Movie, Swiss Army Man, Atomic Blonde and La La Land.
Trashiest trailer: Bad Santa 2
The Trashiest Trailer award is given to a trailer that uses gore and/or sex to sell its product. This year, the award went to Bad Santa 2 — though it was a near definite win for the film that had two separate trailers nominated.
