We know that politicians often mock and chastise one another in Parliament through points of order and the like, but what about WiFi hotspots?
In a rather tech-savvy jibe at President Jacob Zuma and the ANC, it seems that parliamentarians have found a new way to mock the president and the ruling party.

According to a tweet posted by DA member of Parliament and shadow minister of energy Gordon Mackay, these were some of the “wifi [sic] networks at Parliament today”.

The tweet was published on 1 June 2017, a day after Parliament was in session for the Presidential budget vote, and in the midst of the #GuptaLeak emails scandal. We have asked Mackay for a clarification of the date though.
Neverthless, if you’re one for comedy, the list doesn’t disappoint.
ANCorruption, Zuma-is-a-TSOTSI and Dubai or not Dubai are all included, but rather disappointingly, someone on the “iPhone” network didn’t bother changing the network name at all.
While it’s generally regarded as a security prerogative to change your WiFi hotspot name (or SSID), it does seem to be an innocuous but effective vehicle for airing political views.
