American Horror Story season seven now has a title

Ryan Murphy has announced the title of the next American Horror Story season: Cult.

Murphy has kept relatively quiet about plot details, but mentioned in an interview February that the season was going to be about the 2016 US election.

The title announcement also came with a website (only available to the US, or to those with sneaky VPNs), a teaser video and a release date: 5 September.

The video features clown-like figures rocking in a circle around a head clown leader who spews bees out of his mouth.

Another Spanish teaser was released, featuring the same masked figure.

Girls actress Lena Dunham was recently announced for the latest season. She will be joined by Billy Eichner (Billy on the Street), Colton Haynes (Teen Wolf, Arrow), and Billie Lourd (Scream Queens).

Only two cast members have been confirmed as returning: Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters.

Fans have taken to Twitter to celebrate the latest season’s theme.

Some took the time to lament Lena Dunham’s casting.

Others hoped for a better season than season six, which left many fans disappointed.

And some just took the time to remind everyone how much they loved the third season.
