The safety demonstration video on flights is usually the most boring element of air travel, but what if said safety video included some of the world’s most articulate celebrities?
That’s what British Airways believes will encourage people to strap in, and actually take heed during these important announcements.

“We hope you enjoy our new safety video, which we’ve created in collaboration with Comic Relief and some famous faces you’ll probably recognise,” British writes on the video’s description.
“Celebrities are seen auditioning in humorous sketches in front of comedian Asim Chaudhry, as Chabuddy G, for a coveted part in British Airways’ new safety video, while simultaneously demonstrating the safety features and procedures on the aircraft.”
British Airways will debut the new celeb-filled in-flight safety demo video in September
Some of these celebs include Thandie Newton, Gordon Ramsey, Warwick Davis and Sir Ian McKellan.
A few more also pop by during the six-minute clip (you’ll probably recognise the star in the featured image above too).
Published on 18 July, the clip has already amassed close to 800 000 views on YouTube, and an overwhelming number of likes to boot. It’s also currently the 29th most popular video on South Africa’s YouTube chart.
The clip will be played on British Airways flights from 1 September.
