This week, Hadlee Simons hosts Andy Walker and Julia Breakey in studio.

Julia opens the floor with her review for Spider-Man: Homecoming, which she expects superhero fans to love — though she may be biased in her adoration of Tom Holland as Peter Parker.

Hadlee then moves on to discuss South Africa’s cryptocurrency leaders. Some of the names on the list are doing surprisingly well in the international scene including the likes of Llew Claasen and Riccardo Spagni.

Spider-Man, cryptocurrency heroes in South Africa, and Samsung’s home helper are all covered this week

Moving over to Gearburn, Hadlee and Andy discuss Bixby’s US launch delay, as well as Samsung’s internal misunderstandings between the US and South Korean branches. According to some reports, the US was condescendingly applauded to encourage them to do better work.

Finally, Hadlee recounts the Ventureburn Q&A with venture capitalist and founder of 4Di Capital Justin Stanford. Stanford warns against waiting for a South African unicorn, saying he’d be “more interested though in having many companies with US$100-million potential than one or two with US$1-billion potential”.

What are we watching, reading, playing: Andy is playing Horizon Zero Dawn, which he loves. Currently on his to-play list are Final Fantasy XII and Get Even. He is also watching Overwatch tutorial videos.

Julia has just started watching The Handmaid’s Tale, Hulu’s adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s bestselling novel. Over on YouTube, she’s been following the rise of Steven Suptic’s “hilarious” alternative reality vlogs.

Finally, Hadlee just finished the Dirt 4 review, and is encouragingly still playing it. He’s also been eager to try locally developed Carrier Deck.
