Former US President Barack Obama is reportedly in talks with Netflix over a show production deal which could see one of the most influential figures on social media make his production bow on streaming media.
According to the New York Times exclusive, “Netflix would pay Mr. Obama and his wife, Michelle, for exclusive content that would be available only on the streaming service.”

No one’s quite sure what format these show(s) will take yet — whether it’ll be something akin to Keeping Up With The Obamas, or simply a documentary series about the Obama Administration and his Obama family during this decade. Other sources suggest that a talk show could be in the works, with Barack Obama playing moderator. Another hints at a Jamie Oliver-like nutrition show. Cooking With The Obamas, anyone?
Additionally, it seems that a Michelle Obama show isn’t out of the question either.
Whatever the two parties agree on, Netflix is certain that the former President won’t use it to vehemently clap back at the current Trump Administration.
And if the deal is indeed finalised, it will be a big coup for Netflix. The streaming giant has been dropping inordinate amounts of cash for “originals” in recent months, but this would likely be seen as its biggest catch to date. Sorry, Will Smith.
