In the most important tech news of the year, Google has announced that Lens can now identify the breed of your dog and cat.
Google Lens was recently made available across all Android devices, but its usefulness was limited. Users could scan business cards to add them to their phone books, or take photos of famous paintings to get more information on them.

But now, “when you take a photo of an animal — like a cute cat or dog — you can use Lens to help identify its breed and get more information,” the company writes in an update.
A number of other pet enhancements is coming to Google Photos for pets too, in celebration of National Pet Day.
Google Photos can now create a digital photo book of your furry friend using machine learning. If you’re in the US or Canada, you can also order a hard or softcover book.
Users can now also make movies featuring their pets.
“If your pet is ready for a big screen debut, open your Google Photos app, go to the Assistant tab, and click on the movie button,” Google instructs. “Then, if available, choose the Meow Movie or Doggie Movie option, select your pet, and we’ll compile the best photos of your four-legged pal into a movie, set to pet-themed music.”
And finally, Google is allowing emoji and breed search within Google Photos.
“Quickly search ‘pitbull’ to rediscover photos of your sister’s cute canine, or ‘gecko’ to pull up pics of that cool lizard your friend has,” it explains.
“Howevfur you pampurr your pets, we hope you can try out a few of the features that Google Photos has to off-fur.”
