Cell C this week announced tweaks to its WhatsApp data bundles — now dubbed ShoutOut bundles — which previously only allowed access to the social chat app.
The tweaks come in two forms: the company now allows users to also access Facebook with the bundles, while changes to the data bundle size and price has also been announced.

The company’s offering three bundles, namely:
- 80MB with 1 day access for R4
- 1200MB with 30 day access for R17
- 4GB with 30 days access for R49
Notably, that middle bundle was previously priced at R15 and offered 600MB.
Cell C explains that its R4/80MB offer “has been designed to provide customers more disposable income for those seeking greater value amidst tougher economic times”.
“This is certainly the best value for money bundle available in the market for social media addicts and being able to include Facebook into this offer just reinforces Cell C’s commitment to bringing customers the services that they value most,” explains Junaid Munshi, Cell C’s CCO, in a statement.
The bundles will be available to customers beginning 30 July 2018 until the end of September. They can be purchased online, through USSD codes, traditional recharge vouchers, banks and the Cell C app.
