Dros’ online reputation has been shattered this week after a seven-year-old girl was raped by a 20-year-old man in a Dros Silverton outlet.
The incident occurred on Saturday, according to the chain’s official statement, but social media conversation reached a peak on Thursday, after said statement was issued to the public.

Those who haven’t taken to Twitter to voice their opinions took to review platforms to state their thoughts on the restaurant. In particular, the Dros Silverton branch in Pretoria.
A slew of users reviewed Dros on Facebook labelled the restaurant as “not child-friendly”.
“Sick to the core of how you handled the rape situation!! Can’t actually believe it!! The inhumanity is so sad!” wrote one user, mentioning its statement which some felt was unfeeling.
“Your so called manager protected a criminal who had just raped a little girl. You must ALSO be arrested too. The mob should have attacked you for protecting a rapist#you make me sick…” wrote another.
“Sick to the core of how you handled the rape situation!! Can’t actually believe it!! The inhumanity is so sad!” expressed another on Facebook.
20 negative reviews have been posted on Facebook since 25 September.
On Google, it was much of the same.
“Unsafe. Close your doors,” wrote one user early Thursday.
“Avoid. A 6 year old got dragged to the mens toilet and raped due to multiple staff neglicence. Clearly not safe to eat here. For your and your family’s safety go somewhere else instead,” penned a Google Local Guide.
“How can you take the side of a child rapist? And this is supposed to be a family restaurant,” wrote another.
All three of the above gave the Dros in Silverton one star.
