Some say age is but a number, but it’s detrimental to whether you can land that perfect date or not. At least according to a 69-year-old Dutchman.
Emile Ratelband, the man in question, is challenging the laws of time and space in court. He wants to change his birthday, and therefore his age, by two decades.

The unfolding drama was picked up by BBC on Wednesday.
“It’s really a question of free will,” he told the Dutch papers, arguing that changing your age should be as legally and socially acceptable as changing genders or names.
He’s also arguing that age is discriminated against, and is a limiting factor when it comes to finding work, buying a new house or driving a car. His Tinder prospects are also brighter at the younger age, he notes.
“When I’m on Tinder and it says I’m 69, I don’t get an answer. When I’m 49, with the face I have, I will be in a luxurious position,” the BBC quotes the Dutchman.
If you’re wondering, no, a Netherlands resident has never before applied to have his or her age changed. We’re not sure if anyone on the planet has, to be fair.
But some, however, are loving the idea.
Dutchman, 69, wants to legally lower his age to get more hits on Tinder. He will renounce his pension if allowed.
If this works I want to legally change my age to 66 to already get my pension and get into a lower tax bracket. And cheap public transit.https://t.co/nXG3Rq02Bh

While Ratelband’s can’t literally turn back the hands of the clock, he may set quite the legal precedent if the court rules in his favour.
