Netflix has announced plans to produce a number of new animated shows to grow its content for kids and families.
“Nearly 60% of Netflix members on a global basis enjoy kids and family content every month,” said the company in a press release.

It’s for this reason that Netflix aims to cater even further to its family orientated audience with more content, which will come in the form of both animated movies and series.
“The programming is designed to meet the tastes of every member of the family,” the company noted further, mentioning its understanding of how unique family units are.
13 new titles were announced, including upcoming Motown Magic later this month, which is centred around the music made by the famous Motown music brand. “The series follows Ben, a wide-eyed 8-year-old with a big heart and an amazing imagination, who uses a magic paintbrush to bring the street art in Motown to life,” Netflix explains.
There are also a number of shows set for next year, namely:
- Go! Go! Cory Carson from Ratatouille, Finding Dory and Wall.e producers. This series for pre-school children will follow “the adventures of kid car Cory Carson as he navigates the winding roads of childhood in Bumperton Hills”.
- Mighty Little Bheem from director Rajiv Chilaka. This “non-verbal slapstick adventure comedy” series will be based on the character Mighyt Little Bheem and is also aimed at a pre-school audience.
- Klaus from Despicable Me co-creator Sergio Pablos. This family movie, which is set for next year’s festive season, will tell the story of how a postman’s “unlikely friendship with a reclusive toymaker leads to the origin story of Santa Claus”.
The full line up however, stretches all the way to 2022.
