It’s Wednesday, and Eskom still hasn’t solved its weekend maintenance issues. The company this morning issued a release suggesting that there is a “high risk” of load shedding for Wednesday.
“Eskom did not implement rotational load shedding yesterday, but the risk of load shedding remains high for today as the system is still tight and vulnerable,” it penned in a release.
“We continue to encourage residents and businesses to use electricity sparingly during this period. Please switch off geysers as well as all non-essential lighting and electricity appliances to assist in reducing demand.”
Yesterday, Eskom spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe announced that a “number of breakdowns” was experience as “various power stations”. However, no load shedding was implemented.
The utility notes that load shedding will only be implemented if “absolutely necessary”.
