Avengers: Endgame

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame is well on its way to becoming one of the biggest ever grossing movies ever.

According to BoxOfficeMojo, the flick is already the 18th highest grossing movie ever made, displacing Captain America: Civil War (with $1.15-billion) and DC’s biggest flick in Aquaman (with $1.14-billion).

The final flick in the Infinity Saga grossed $1.2-billion worldwide in its first weekend, taking the record for the biggest global opening from previous holder and prequel Infinity War, which made almost half as much.

Incidentally, it has just over $800-million to go before it smashes past Infinity War‘s fourth place in the all-time grossing list. Avatar sits at the top of the pile with $2.78-billion accrued.

Avengers: Endgame grossed $1.2bn globally in its first weekend, smashing Infinity War’s previous record by nearly $600m

According to a Deadline exclusive, it seems the film has practically paid off all its production expenditure already. Infinity War took around ten days to make its first real buck.

But Endgame can attest to holding a few other records in the meantime. It needed just five days to top a billion too. Infinity War needed 11 days to do the same. It also toppled Star Wars: The Force Awakens at Imax screens, racking up $91.5-million.
