Google search trends have revealed what South Africans have been querying 48 hours since the 2019 election results were announced by the IEC.

South Africans were particularly interested in which political party won in Gauteng and Tshwane as well.

The most Googled questions also included:

  • How many seats does EFF have in parliament?
  • How many votes did BLF get?
  • Did ANC win the election 2019?
  • How did BLF do in elections?

While the ANC, EFF, FFP, DA and BLF dominated the top searched for parties in South Africa, the most searched provinces featured Limpopo, Mpumalanga and Gauteng in the top three spots.

Julius Malema, Cyril Ramaphosa, Hlaudi Motsoeneng and Vuyo Zungula got top positions on the list of most searched candidates as well.

The country’s most search for cities included Polokwane, Alberton, Soshanguve and Johannesburg South, in that order.
