Google search trends have revealed what South Africans have been querying 48 hours since the 2019 election results were announced by the IEC.
Along with many wanting to know who exactly won the election, citizens also asked after the number of seats in parliament, how many votes get you a seat in parliament and who the country’s president is.

The most Googled questions also included:
- How many seats does EFF have in parliament?
- How many votes did BLF get?
- Did ANC win the election 2019?
- How did BLF do in elections?
While the ANC, EFF, FFP, DA and BLF dominated the top searched for parties in South Africa, the most searched provinces featured Limpopo, Mpumalanga and Gauteng in the top three spots.
Julius Malema, Cyril Ramaphosa, Hlaudi Motsoeneng and Vuyo Zungula got top positions on the list of most searched candidates as well.
The country’s most search for cities included Polokwane, Alberton, Soshanguve and Johannesburg South, in that order.
