A report by TechCrunch on Tuesday revealed that millions of popular Instagrammers’ personal data was exposed after a public database was discovered online.
The database reportedly contained contact and sign-up information from “several high-profile influencers” and millions of brand and popular accounts on the platform.

The data, which belonged to social media marketing company Chatrbox, included information about the users followers and account analytics as well. Some of the affected users claimed to have had no involvement with the Indian company.
Since TechCrunch’s discovery, the database has been taken down with no comment from Chatrbox.
Facebook is “looking into” how the company obtained the private information.
