WhatsApp revealed a list of mobile operating systems that will no longer include support for the messaging platform.
Support for Android 2.3.7 and iOS 7 devices, and older, will end in February 2020 while “all Windows Phone operating systems” will lose support at the end of 2019. This means that some users will not be able to use WhatsApp on older Android and Apple devices in the near future.

This isn’t a new process for WhatsApp though. In 2016, it announced that it will cease to function with BlackBerry devices, as well as older Nokia phones.
“Because we will no longer actively develop for these platforms, some features may stop functioning at any time,” the company noted in an updated blog post.
It’s suspected that the company is currently developing a Windows-optimised version of the messaging service.
