Avenger: Endgame saw “record shattering” success when it premiered in the country on 26 April this year.
“The film passed a number of other milestones, including the biggest ever opening weekend of any Super Hero, Marvel Studios and Disney film, and it became the fastest film to hit the R30 million mark in South Africa,” Disney said in a press release.
Marvel’s Black Panther, Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War are now the top three grossing films in the country of all time.
“We are eagerly anticipating the continued expansion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and look forward to celebrating it with fans across the country,” said Senior Vice President of The Walt Disney Company Africa, Christine Service.
Avengers: Endgame is still in cinemas country-wide.
