Google on Wednesday debuted a new ICC Cricket World Cup information portal available from within the Google Search app.
“Over the next six weeks, you can explore the tournament table, stats and upcoming matches right in Google Search,” it noted in a statement.

Users can access the portal by opening the Google Search app, and typing in “ICC Cricket World Cup” in English or a number of other languages in the search bar. Cricket fans can also search for teams specifically to browse stats, lineups and live-updating “winning probabilities”.
However, the pick of the features is its live score pining feature. Available for each live match, Google now includes an option to “Pin Live Score”. Tap it, and a bubble will appear on your phone’s screen. It can be moved to wherever you want, and will remain visible even if you open another app.
Tapping the bubble also opens a more granular score screen, and there’s also an option to view the match’s current stats within the Cricket World Cup portal too.
It’s a nifty little feature, and works surprisingly well on the likes of the Huawei P30 Pro.
The feature’s available at the time of writing.
