Another day, another live-action Disney remake that’s got Twitter talking. This time the first teaser trailer for Mulan got fans emotional over what looks more like a genuine historical film about the epic Chinese tale rather than a typical Disney fantasy.
me: disney remakes are just boring ways for the company to renew-

#Mulan is our favorite Disney “princess” movie and this cast is everything. We don’t generally care for remakes, but oh man, a female-led martial arts movie? Best punk rawk princess ever made!

Of course, in a world where everyone loves to complain, some people found fault with what they could gather from the minute and a half long teaser.
Having moment please excuse me:
So let me get this straight… No mushu in the remake of Mulan and none of the classic songs?… pic.twitter.com/5senkxEUY3

But the internet was quick to educate the haters.
People tweeting about mushu and Cri-Kee not being in Mulan is pissing me off like please just appreciate Liu Yifei and the factual story behind This amazing story pic.twitter.com/HhghiDHiWb

imagine finally getting an all asian cast disney film only to be boycotted by non-asian people just bc there’s no animated dragon voiced by a black man in it.
pro-tip: if you want to fix your nostalgia, watch the animated film #Mulan pic.twitter.com/hpd4kjHMAE

“The Little Mermaid was a Danish story so it has to be depicted accurately to the original.”
“WhEre’S mY CaRtOoN dRaGoN aNd MuSicAl NuMbErS iN tHiS aDaPtAtiOn oF tHe oRiGiNaL StOrY oF HuA MuLaN?¿?¿”
The dumbass JUMPED out.

For once disney decides to stick with the original story, a more realistic remake with an amazing all-Asian cast and all you care is about mushu. Go back to watch the animated version or go off I guess #mulan pic.twitter.com/1N7OiN9jNb

According to Disney, the movie is based on “The Ballad of Mulan”, the original Chinese poem, and not the 90s animation.
Mulan will hit cinemas on 27 March 2020. Watch the trailer below.
