Unsurprisingly, Cape Town dam levels continued to climb this week. According to the City, dam levels are now at a combined 81.7%, increasing by 1.2% over last week.
It’s one of the smallest increases we’ve seen in the past two weeks, largely due to a much drier week across many of the City’s key dams.

The Theewaterskloof, which increased by 1.8%, received no rainfall within its catchment area. Still, it’s now 72% full.
The Voëlvlei Dam, which increased by 2.2%, receive half a millimetre of rain this week.
The Berg River remains above 100% full, while the Steenbras Lower Dam too crossed the 100% full mark this week. The Steenbras Upper dropped to 99.5% this week.
Perhaps the most impressive info point this week is the stark drop in water consumption.
Cape Town used more than 80-million litres per day less this week than last. Water consumption dropped to its lowest total in more than a year at 503-million litres per day.
