YouTube’s testing giant thumbnails on its homescreen (and people hate it)

Several users on Reddit and Twitter (spotted by The Verge) on Tuesday spotted bigger thumbnails on YouTube, which the company seems to be testing.

Judging by  screenshots, the thumbnails are now more than double their current size and don’t appear to be grouped according to any specific categories.

The change is not being met with enthusiasm.

“I’m sorry, but this is the worst update I’ve ever seen and now homepage is just unusable, I can’t look at thumbnails so big,” said one Twitter user.

Just continues to show that YouTube has too much of a tendency of changing things that don’t need to be changed once again,” said another.

While the update is only a test seen by some YouTube users, it’s yet to be seen if the platform will adopt the large thumbnail look in the future.
