Google on Thursday revealed new updates coming to Chrome that will help users better manage multiple tabs on the browser.
First, the company is rolling out a new grid layout on mobile that will show users thumbnail previews of all their open webpages.

Users will also be able to group thumbnails together by dragging and dropping “one tab on top of another”, much like how one would group apps on a smartphone.
“After opening one of the grouped tabs, you can easily switch between the tabs in the group using the new tab switcher at the bottom of your screen,” Google explained on its blog.
The new grid layout, which is already available on iOS, will roll out to Android devices over the next few weeks.
On desktop, meanwhile, Chrome users will now be able to see a pop-up page title when hovering their mouse cursor on open tabs.
“For now you’ll see the page title, and soon you’ll see a thumbnail of the page too,” Google noted.
The company is also launching a new “send to your devices” feature for Chrome that will allow users to share links between their phone, tablet and computer.
In addition to these tab updates, Google revealed its new colour customisation tool for Chrome as well.
“Make Chrome yours by customizing the background, colour, and theme,” the company said.
Earlier this year, reports revealed that Google was testing a media pause-play button to control media playing on multiple Chrome tabs as well. The feature, however, is yet to roll out officially.
