Eskom confirms: Stage 2 load shedding returns on Thursday, Stage 1 for Cape Town

Brace yourselves for another day of load shedding, South Africa, as Eskom intermittently cuts your power for a second day running.

The utility tweeted on Thursday that load shedding will commence once more from 9am Thursday morning until 11pm Thursday as a result of a “shortage of capacity”.

The important thing to note here is that Stage 2 is in effect. For some areas, this means power dropping up to five hours a day.

You can experience Stage 1 in some areas, though, namely those serviced by the City of Cape Town.

For the City of Johannesburg and eThekwini Municipality, Stage 2 will be in effect.

Eskom would also like to remind South Africans that it is “sincerely” sorry for the “inconvenience” caused.
