Disappearing messages could be coming to WhatsApp in the near future according to a new app feature dive by WABetaInfo.
The feature sleuth on Tuesday revealed that the Facebook-owned messaging app hasn’t yet rolled out a final version, but there are indications of it in the works.

Like Snapchat and Telegram, disappearing messages will let two users end texts that are wiped from the chat roll after a set amount of time.
At the moment, you can select five seconds or an hour.
WABetaInfo believes it will be available for both private and group chats, and could help bolster the security of the chat app.
Currently, users are allowed to delete messages from individual chats, but the indication that these were deleted remains. Disappearing messages will leave no trace.
It’s not clear when an official version of the feature will roll out to all using WhatsApp. It’s at its initial development stage for now, but it’ll definitely go a long way to service those currently using Snapchat and Telegram for private chats.
