MTN Expands Black Friday Into Black FriYAY With Bigger Deals and Added Value Across SA

MTN launches its biggest Black Friday yet

MTN South Africa has kicked off its 2025 Black Friday campaign with a major expansion of deals and added value, stretching the shopping period across two full weeks. Running from 24 November to 7 December, the new Black FriYAY campaign gives customers more time, more choice and more flexibility to secure discounted home internet, mobile data, smartphones, accessories and travel connectivity.

The move reflects the growing demand for extended retail cycles as South Africans take extra time to compare offers and budget for year end spending. MTN says customers have increasingly asked for a longer Black Friday window to make informed purchase decisions, especially on connectivity products.

Connectivity at the centre of MTN’s Black FriYAY campaign

MTN’s Black Friday strategy for 2025 focuses strongly on home and mobile connectivity. With more households streaming, gaming, studying and working online, the operator has boosted its lineup of home internet packages, added new 5G data plans and bundled routers and accessories into discounted offers.

Ernst Fonternel, Chief Officer for Consumer Postpaid and Home, says home connectivity remains a central focus for MTN. He explains that the two week Black FriYAY model aligns with customer expectations and ensures wider access to MTN’s best deals across mobile and home internet.

This year’s promotions include discounted fibre and 5G packages, boosted mobile data plans, entry level and mid tier smartphone deals and value packed accessory bundles designed to enhance in home connectivity and entertainment.
