Fez drops surreal and enchanting trailer

This is possibly the best gaming trailer you’ll see all day, and it’s for the awe-inspiring, perspective-defying 2D/3D platformer, Fez.

In development for over five years now, Fez is the creation of two geniuses who clearly love gaming, namely Phil Fish and Renaud Bédard. Similar to games such as Paper Mario, Fez plays out like no platform game you have played before, as perspective constantly shifts from 2D to 3D.

Why has Fez taken so long to release? According to the developers, it’s all about the quality. “Fez is our first game, our first project. It’s hard to manage the fact that you want the game to be perfect.” Hopefully the longer a game takes to develop, the better it will play. This seems the case for Fez, not so much for failed train-wreck Duke Nukem Forever. Fez is also a featured game in Indie Game: The Movie.

Scheduled to release on Xbox Live Arcade sometime this century, Fez is already massaging the pleasure centres of this eager gamer. Enough blather, just watch the video and enjoy.
