New iPad Wi-Fi issue: Apple takes action

Your iPad 3 overheating? It’s become a “very real problem” according to several reports and as the complaints mount up, it seems that the overheating issue is directly hampering Wi-Fi connectivity.

This site has unearthed a confidential AppleCare document for “Apple internal use only” and, as everyone knows, the more confidential a document is, the more chances there are of it being spread across the web like a thick layer of jelly.

Apple’s official discussion forum is crammed with comments regarding the poor Wi-Fi reception of the iPad 3. Over 700 users have reported an issue with their new iPads.

The symptoms report that Apple stores should in the States should “capture iPad (3rd generation) Wi-Fi devices only if they exhibited any issue related to Wi-Fi.”

Symptoms include slow Wi-Fi speeds, network not seen and intermittent connectivity. Captured iPad’s will be sent back to apple where technicians are set to investigate the overheating and Wi-Fi issue.  Any unit affected by this issue will be replaced by Apple.
