Release: Late July. Hardware upgrades: a back-facing camera and a physical volume rocker. OS upgrade: Jellybean, or Android 4.1. Price: US$200. And that’s all we know folks.

It’s going to be the same 7-incher we all know and love. At US$200, the new Kindle tablet will easily compete with the less fortunate 7-inchers out there, such as the multitude Samsung tablets and Chinese iPad rip-offs.

Jellybean as the fresh-faced OS is a wise move. The Kindle Fire is a decent Android device and with the power of Android 4.1 behind it, the tablets going to open up its petals to hackers and developers alike. Stick to the Gear for the latest on Amazon’s new Kindle, whenever those bastards decide to release some proper info.
